Joshua Peatee

The Northview musician of the week is senior violinist Joshua Peatee. Joshua plays violin in the Chamber Orchestra. He has represented Northview at District Orchestra, and is a member of the Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestra. Josh has been a member of the Pit Orchestra, and performs regularly at Solo and Ensemble. In addition to his musical activities, Josh is undecided to what college he wants to attend. A private student of Randy Workman, Josh is the son of Joseph Peatee and Vicki Humpert. 

Eric Blagrave

Senior, Eric Blagrave, is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Eric has been a  member of the Northview Band Program all four years of high school.  Eric has demonstrated strong musicianship, leadership, and a joy for music throughout his career here at Northview.  This year, Eric has been a squad leader, section leader, and principal trombone of the Wind Ensemble.  Eric has been a member of the Northview Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Pit Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Bands, and Pep Bands.  Eric is also a member of the Toledo Youth Symphony and has performed in numerous regional and OMEA honors and festival events.  Eric is the son of Erica & Sean Blagrave.

Liam Corcoran

The Northview musician of the week is senior bassist Liam Corcoran. Liam is Principal Bass in the Chamber Orchestra, plays bass in the Jazz Band and North Covers. Liam volunteers his time coaching younger students. In addition to his musical activities, Liam is a member of the National Honor Society and the Northview Bowling Team. After graduation Liam plans to study Elementary Education at the University of Toledo. Liam is the son of Doug Corcoran and Tracey Corcoran-Teleha.

Alsedeaq Hawamdeh

Senior Alsedeaq Hawamdeh is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Alsedeaq has been an outstanding member of the Northview Band Program all four years of high school.  Alsedeaq has demonstrated leadership skills as well as a high level of musicality as a member of the band program.  As a band officer, Secretary, Alsedeaq has been an asset and added key leadership in the logistics of daily classroom operation throughout the marching season.  Alsedeaq has been a member of the Northview Marching Band, Pep Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Cats, & Jazz Band.  In addition to these ensembles, he has also participated in OMEA regional events.  In addition to his musical activities, Alsedeaq is also involved in Science Olympiad as Captain, National Honors Society, & is Treasurer of the Muslim Student Association.  Alsedeaq is the son of Mohammad & Omaia Hawamdeh.

Joshua Burton

The Northview Musician of the Week is senior Joshua Burton, son of Andrew and Kim Burton.  Josh sings bass in the Northview A Cappella Choir and plays bass in the Concert Orchestra. Over the past four years, Josh has been an active member of the Northview Theatre Department appearing in Les Miserables and  Cinderella.   Apart from his musical activities, Josh is a part of Southview Programming. After graduation, Josh plans on going to Tulane University to continues his studies with Musical Theory/Musical Composition and App Development.

Claire Gray

The Northview musician of the week is senior cellist Claire Gray. Claire is a member of the Chamber Orchestra and North Covers. She has represented Northview at OMEA Regional and District Orchestra, is a member of the Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestra and has been a member of the Greater Toledo Youth Orchestra. Claire has been a member of the Pit Orchestra, and performs regularly at Solo and Ensemble. In addition to her musical activities, Claire is a member of Science Olympiad. After graduation, Claire will attend Brown University to study chemistry education. A private student of Yang Kun Song, Claire is the daughter of Gayle and John Gray. 

Lily Dung

Senior Lily Dung is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Lily has been an elite member of the Wildcat Band program all four years of high school.  With her professional mannerism, hard work, and musical skill she helps lead her peers as a section leader.  She is an incredibly valuable part of the Northview band program.  During her time at Northview, Lily has been a member of the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Pit Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, participated in many regional honor bands, as well as OMEA events.  Lily studies flute privately with Christy McConnell. Lily is also actively involved in Business Professionals of America, Leadership Academy, & National Honors Society.  Lily is the daughter of Yan Zhen Chen & Xiao Bing Dung.

Adam Knapp

Senior, Adam Knapp, is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Adam has been a member of the Northview Band Program all four years of high school.  Adam has developed into a strong musician and leader throughout his time here at Northview.  This year, Adam was a section leader of the drumline.  Adam is a constant team player, consistently putting the needs of others above his own and always willing to give of his time and energy helping others, especially in mentoring younger students.  Over his time at Northview, Adam has been involved in Drumline, Symphony Orchestra, Marching Band, Pep Band, Jazz Band, Pit Orchestra, and all of the Northview concert bands.  Adam has also participated in various honor bands and festivals, including OMEA events.  Adam is the son of  Julie and Robb Knapp.

Thomas Peacock

The Northview musician of the week is senior violist Thomas Peacock. Thomas plays viola in the Chamber Orchestra, tuba in the band, sings in the A Capella Chorale, and is a member of North Covers. He has represented Northview at OMEA Regional and District Orchestra, and is a member of the Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestra. Thomas has been a member of the Pit Orchestra, and performs regularly at Solo and Ensemble. In addition to his musical activities, Thomas has been a member of the water polo team. After graduation, Thomas plans to study Engineering at The University of Toledo. A private student Reed Anderson, Thomas is the son of Stacey Peacock.

Drew Achinger

Senior Drew Achinger is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Drew has been a stand-out performer and member of the Wildcat Band all four years of high school.  He is highly involved in all musical activities and his musical skills, talent, and ability help lead the Wildcat Band Program.  Drew has been a member of the Marching Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Pep Band, Pit Orchestra, Jazz Cats & Jazz Band.  Drew has also participated in OMEA Solo and Ensemble, UT Honor Band, BGSU Honor Band the prestigious OMEA District Honor Band, and studies saxophone privately with Mr. Tim Hoffman.  Drew is also actively involved in Science Olympiad and Math Club.  Drew is the son of Mark and Deb Achinger.

Grant Perry

 

The Northview Musician of the Week is senior Grant Perry, son of Steve and Rose Perry. Grant sings Baritone in the Northview A Cappella Choir and Harmony Road Show. Grant also is an active member of Northview Theatre Department. Over the past four years Grant has served as stage manager for Urinetown, Les Miserables, Songs For a New World, Cinderella, Exhibit This, and Little Women as well as production manager for Almost, Maine and Mamma Mia plus lighting designer for Little Women, Mamma Mia, and Radium Girls.  Grant also served as Assistant Stage Manager for the 2017 National Opening Show at the International Thespian Festival and is participating for his third year in the All Ohio Thespian Show. After graduation, Grant plans to attend Ohio University to major in Wildlife and Conservation Biology.

Alexis VanKlingeren

 

The Northview musician of the week is senior violinist Alexis VanKlingeren. Alexis plays violin in the Chamber Orchestra. She has represented Northview at OMEA Regional and District Orchestra, and has been a member of the Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Greater Toledo Youth Orchestra.  Alexis has been a member of the Pit Orchestra, and performs regularly at Solo and Ensemble. In addition to her musical activities, Alexis is a member of National Honor Society. After graduation, Alexis plans to study Music Education at an undecided college. A private student of Estelle Dobbins, Alexis is the daughter of Lisa VanKlingeren.

Hannah Dorris

 

The Northview musician of the week is senior violinist Hannah Dorris. Hannah plays violin in the Chamber Orchestra and viola in the Concert Orchestra. She has represented Northview at OMEA Regional and District Orchestra, is a member of the University of Toledo Symphony Orchestra, and has been a member of the Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Greater Toledo Youth Orchestra. Hannah has been a member of the Pit Orchestra, is a member of North Covers, and performs regularly at Solo and Ensemble. In addition to her musical activities, Hannah is a member of Science Olympiad and National Honor Society. After graduation, Hannah will attend college to study Biochemistry. A private student of Penny Kruse, Hannah is the daughter of Kristy and Brian Dorris.

Sara Lewandowski

 

The Northview Musician of the Week is senior Sara Lewandowski, daughter of Patti and Doug Lewandowski. Sara sings Soprano in the Northview A Cappella Choir and Harmony Road Show. Sara also is an active member of Northview Theatre Department. Over the past four years Sara has portrayed the roles of Zaneeta Shinn in The Music Man, Cosette in Les Mis, featured in Songs For A New World, and Cinderella in Roger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. She also has been Company Manager and vocal captain. Apart from her musical activities, Sara is involved in National Honors Society, The Peace Project, Drama Club, and tutoring. After graduation, Sara plans to attend The University of Toledo to major in psychology.

John Slattery

 

The Northview Musician of the Week is senior John Slattery, son of Bill and Charlotte Slattery. John sings Tenor in the Northview A Cappella Choir and Harmony Road Show and Is Historian for the Choirs. John plays the Saxophone for the Marching band and also is a squad leader, section leader, and a member of the loading crew. John is also Vice President for the Marching band. John plays Bassoon for the Wind Ensemble and Symphony orchestra. He has participated in Solo and Ensemble, District Honors Choir, Jazz band, Jazz cats, pep band and has performed at state conference. He also is an active member of Northview Theatre Department. Over the past three years john has performed five shows. Some roles include a lead in Songs for a New World, Lord Pinkleton in Cinderella, Laurie in Little Women, and Sam in Mamma Mia. John also has performed three shows outside of the Northview Theatre Department. Apart from his musical activities, John is a thespian, a member of speech and debate, and is an NHS member. After graduating, John plans to major in Commercial Aviation.

McKenna Burke

 

The Northview musician of the week is senior violist McKenna Burke. McKenna is a member of the Chamber Orchestra, has represented Northview in the OMEA NW Regional Orchestra, All- State Orchestra, and the Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestras. This February she will attend the Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall in New York City. McKenna performs regularly at Solo and Ensemble, and has performed with the Sylvania Community Orchestra. She has been a member of Pit Orchestra, Jazz Band, and recently took the stage as a member of the Mama Mia cast. In addition to her musical activities, McKenna is a member of the Northview Varsity Swim Team, and National Honor Society. After graduation, McKenna will attend college to study Music Education. A private student of Robert Howell, McKenna is the daughter of Melissa and Mike Burke.

Jessica Weaner

 

The Northview Musician of the Week is senior Jessica Weaner, daughter of Mike and Connie Weaner.  Jessica sings Alto in the Northview A Cappella Choir, Symphonic Choir, and Women’s Chorus.  Jessica also is a member of the Toledo Opera Chorus, a superior-rated participant of Solo and Ensemble, and has been studying voice privately for 12 years.  Apart from her musical activities, Jessica likes to travel, sleep, and spend time with her horse.  After graduation, Jessica either wants to major in psychology and go on to become an occupational therapist or major in voice performance.

Zoe Scott

 

Senior, Zoe Scott, is the Northview High School Musician of the Week.  Zoe has been a most outstanding member of the Northview Band Program all four years of high school.  Zoe has demonstrated the highest level of musicianship and leadership throughout her career here at Northview.  As this year’s head librarian and clarinet section leader, Zoe has been a tremendous asset to the band program.  Much of what we do in the band program relies on her organizational skills and hard work.  Her positive attitude and wonderful playing add an immeasurable quality to the band program.  Zoe has been a member of: Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, the Northview Marching Band, Pep Bands, Jazz Band, Symphony Orchestra, played in the Pit Orchestra, and has participated in numerous Honors bands & OMEA festival events.  Zoe is also involved in Student Council, Northview Theatre, and National Honors Society.   Zoe is the daughter of Robin & Jeremy Scott.

Daniel Lee

 

The Northview musician of the week is senior violinist Daniel Lee. Daniel is a member of the Chamber Orchestra, and is currently serving as President of the Northview Orchestras.  Daniel has represented Northview in the OMEA NW Regional Orchestra, All-State Orchestra, and the Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestras. He performs regularly at Solo and Ensemble. Daniel is a member of A Capella Choir, Harmony Road Show, North Covers, and Pit Orchestra.  He is also a member of the UT Orchestra. This past summer Daniel partnered with Pro-Medica to found a program called ‘Healing Together’ where taught music to children experiencing health challenges.  After graduation, Daniel will attend college to study biochemistry and medicine. A private student of Vasile Beluska, Daniel is the son of Kay and Hoski Lee.

Nielsen Johnson

 

Senior Nielsen Johnson is the Northview High School Musician of the Week.  Nielsen has been a vital member of the Wildcat Marching Band all four years of high school.  With his positive attitude and musical skills he helps lead the Wildcat Marching Band as a field commander.  His strong leadership skills and playing ability make him a valuable part of the Northview band program.   Nielsen has played Mellophone & French Horn as a member of the Northview Marching Band, Pep Band, Symphonic Band, & Wind Ensemble.  In addition, Nielsen has participated in Northview Theatre, N-Compass, StuCo, Class Government, is the current Senior class president, and is a member of the National Honors Society.  Nielsen is the son of Beth and Rob Johnson.

Zach Turner

 

Senior, Zach Turner, is the Northview High School Musician of the Week.  Zach has been a member of the Northview Band Program all four years of high school.  Zach has been a tremendous asset to the band program throughout his time at Northview.  As a multi-instrumentalist, Zach performs both on alto and baritone saxophone.  During his time at Northview, Zach has been a member of the Northview Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Pep Bands, and has performed in OMEA festivals.  Zach has also been involved in Northview Theatre, Choir department, National Honors Society, Science Olympiad, and Math Club.  Zach is the son of Jim & Priscilla Turner.

Riker Thomas

 

Senior Riker Thomas is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Riker has been an outstanding member of the Northview Band Program all four years of high school. Riker has demonstrated leadership as well as a high level of musicality as a
member of the band program. As a woodwind player, Riker has developed skills on multiple instruments, including clarinet and saxophone, and has demonstrated those skills in a number of ensembles. Riker is a member of the Northview Marching Band, Pep Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Pit Orchestra, and Jazz Band . Riker is also actively involved in Business Professionals of America. Riker is the son of Janice and Rob Thomas.

Kevin Gaynor

Senior, Kevin Gaynor, is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Kevin has been an involved and talented member of the Northview Band all four years of high school.  Kevin has demonstrated leadership and great musicianship throughout his time at Northview, this year he was the head of our loading crew, offering his services in this much needed student-led position.  Kevin has been a member of Marching Band, Pep Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and has performed successfully in numerous OMEA honors groups and festivals throughout his Northview career.  Kevin is a multi-instrumentalist, showing his talents on tuba, and trombone.  Kevin is also involved in the Northview Varsity Swim, Water Polo, & National Honors Society.  Kevin is the son of Chris & Gary Gaynor.

Travis Cox

Senior, Travis Cox, is the Northview High School Musician of the Week.  Travis has been a member of the Northview Band Program all four years of high school.  Travis has been a tremendous asset to the band program throughout his time at Northview.  During his time at Northview, Travis has been a member of the Northview Marching Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Bands, and has performed in numerous collegiate and OMEA honors groups and festivals throughout the region.  In addition to his musical activities, Travis stays active as an employee for Chick-fil-a.  Travis is the son of Jamie Cox & James Cox. 

Tristan Bonde

Senior, Tristan Bonde, is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Tristan has been an outstanding member of the Northview Band Program.  Tristan has demonstrated leadership in a multitude of ways through a four year career here at Northview.  As this year’s student officer, Band President, Tristan has been a great resource to the directors and leadership for our students in the band.  This job is vital to the smooth operation of the band program.  Tristan has been a member of the Northview Marching Band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Pep Bands, Jazz Bands, Symphony Orchestra, Pit Orchestra, and has participated in numerous regional honors ensembles and OMEA honors and festival events.  Tristan is also involved in French Honors Society & Theatre.  Next year Tristan will be attending Bowling Green State University majoring in Music Education.  Tristan is the son of Torey & Josh Bonde.
