Parent volunteers are among the band and orchestra's most valued assets. In fact, parental involvement is essential to our success.

The 2010-2011 school year is about to start and we are looking forward to another successful season with the band and orchestra parents and their generous support.  We would like to invite you to attend the Band & Orchestra Booster meetings.  These meetings are organized by band and orchestra parents to help support the work of the band and orchestra directors, to benefit all music students! We invite YOU to join the fun!

The football/marching band season provides many immediate opportunities to volunteer. We need YOU for these activities. The schedule is provided here for your convenience.

1. A) CONCESSION STANDS at Varsity Football Games:  For each home game we need at least 16 helpers to set-up and operate the two concession stands. B)  CHAPERONES:  We need 10 chaperones to ride along on the busses to help supervise students at away games and 6 chaperones for each home game.  We would like different parents for each game.

2.  CONCESSION STANDS for Junior Varsity and Freshman Football Games.  We need four helpers to set up and operate the two concession stands. JV games are Saturday at 10:00 A.M. Freshman games are on Thursday at 4:45 P.M.

3. The other events for which we need volunteers are too numerous and varied to mention here. For a detailed description of these events and an idea of the time commitment involved, please see the volunteer form.

Download the volunteer form, fill out as appropriate, being sure to complete both sides. The number of parents needed for each event is in parentheses. If you are a band parent, have your child return the left side to Mr. Bohland on the first day of band camp. If you are an orchestra parent, please return in the enclosed addressed/stamped envelope.  Keep the right side for your calendar at home.

With over 300 students in orchestra, band, flag corps and majorettes, and the ambitious schedule that the Music Department  keeps, your continued support is needed and appreciated. There are over 350 volunteer opportunities listed on the volunteer form. A great deal of time is not needed – just a little bit from a lot of people!
