| To round out the 2009/2010 school year, we have three Musicians of the Week: |

Addie Davis |
Senior Addie Davis is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Addie is principal bassoonist in the Northview Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. Addie also plays the trombone in the Wildcat Marching Band. Addie serves as a quartermaster taking wonderful care of our uniforms. She always does much more than is asked of her. Addie’s positive attitude and leadership ability has definitely been an asset to our music programs at Northview. She plans to study International Business at Valparaiso University next year. Addie is the daughter of Dave and Barbra Davis. |

Neal Cousino |
Neal Cousino is a senior violinist in the Northview Orchestra. He is currently serving as Vic-President of the Northview Orchestras. Neal is an active member of the Toledo International Youth Orchestra, and will travel to Vienna with them this summer. Neal has been a member of the OMEA District I Honors Orchestra and has participated in solo and ensemble. Neal is a private student of Diana Anderson. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the NV cross-country and track teams. After graduation, Neal plans to attend Lehigh University to major in Engineering. He is the son of Brent and Pam Cousino. |

Nate Miklovic |
Nathan Miklovic is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Nathan plays the tuba in the Northview Marching Band, and Wind Ensemble. Nathan also plays bass in the Jazz Band anchoring an award winning rhythm section. Nathan received a Superior rating at OMEA Solo & Ensemble Contest performing in a low brass trio. He also played bass in the pit orchestra of the Northview musical “Beauty and the Beast”. Nathan is a member of the National Honor Society and a National Merit Finalist and is extremely involved in his church youth group and worship band. Nathan will attend the University of Alabama and major in business management. He would then like to enroll the Reformed Evangelical Pastor’s College. Nathan is the son of Matt and Adrienne Miklovic.

Connor McEwen is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Connor is principal tuba in the Northview Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and Toledo Youth Orchestra. Connor also plays trombone in the Jazz Band and French horn in the Symphonic Band. Connor has been a member of the Ohio Music Education Association All-District Band several times. Connor recently received a Superior rating on his tuba solo, low brass trio, and brass quintet at OMEA Solo & Ensemble Contest. Connor has been in the pit orchestra of the Northview musical for the last 3 years. He is president of the Science Olympiad team, captain of the Northview lacrosse team, a member of the National Honor Society and Math Club, and a National Merit Finalist. He will major in Mechanical Engineering at Boston University next year. Connor is the son of Terry and Lisa McEwen. |
Senior cellist Dave Moyer is the Northview Musician of the Week. Dave is not only a cellist in the Chamber Orchestra, but he also plays bass in our Concert Orchestra. Dave is a great leader, and serves as president of our Concert Orchestra. He is also a member of the Sylvania Community Orchestra. After graduation, Dave plans to attend Owens Community College to get an associates degree in commercial art. Dave is the son of Fran and David Moyer. |

| Senior Rita Betz is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Rita is principal clarinetist in the Northview Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. Rita also is the baritone section leader in the Wildcat Marching Band. She was selected as a member of the Ohio Music Education Association District 1 Honor Band. Rita received a “I” or Superior rating on her clarinet solo at OMEA Solo & Ensemble Contest her sophomore and senior years. Rita also has received a Gold Rating at both district and regional competition in the Family Careers and Community Leaders of America Early Childhood Team. Rita is the daughter of Dennis and Mary Betz. |
CJ Wendt is a senior violist in the Northview Orchestra. He has been principal violist for the past 3 years, and is a member of the Northview String Quartet. Outside of school, CJ participates in the Toledo Youth Orchestra and the Toledo International Youth Orchestra. He is a member of the National Honor Society. CJ plans to major in music education at either BGSU or Ball State University. CJ is the son of Sue and Noel Wendt. |

| Senior Taylor Meek is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Taylor is principal horn in the Northview Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra. Taylor is co-principal horn for the Toledo Youth Orchestra and has been a member for the last three years. This will be his third year in the Ohio Music Education Association District 1 Honor Band. He was also involved in the Northview production of Beauty and the Beast. Next year Taylor plans to major in either political science or physical therapy at the University of Toledo. Taylor is the son of Gordon and Barbara Meek. |
Katherine Chang is the Northview Musician of the Week She a senior cellist in the Northview Orchestra. Katherine was a member of the Northwest Regional Orchestra, and participates in the Toledo International Youth Orchestra. She is also the cellist in the Northview String Quartet. Katherine is president of the Northview Student Government, plays water polo, is on the staff of the Student Prints, and is a member of the National Honor Society and Science Olympiad. Next year she plans to attend college and major in biochemistry. Katherine is the daughter of Angi and Huan-kun Chang. |

| Alex Gibson is the Northview Musician of the Week. Alex is a senior violinist in the Northview Chamber Orchestra. He is also an active member of the Northview String Quartet, and is a private student of Rissa Sindel. Alex is a very strong musician, not only in orchestra, but also as a singer in our A Capella Choir and Harmony Road Show. Here at Northview Alex is very involved in our theater department. He portrayed the ‘Cat in The Hat’ in the 2009 production of ‘Seussical,’ and was ‘Gaston’ in last fall’s production of ‘Beauty and the Beast.’ Undecided on a college at this point, Alex plans to major in musical theater. He is the son of Sharon and Thomas Gibson. |
Senior Emily Holshoe is the Northview Musician of the Week. She is a member of Honors A Cappella Choir, where she has served as treasurer for the last two years and serves as soprano II section leader this year. Additionally, Emily has been a member of the Northview Harmony Road Show during her junior and senior years. She is part of the Northview Flag Corps and was in the chorus of Northview’s production of Seussical where she served as vocal captain. Emily sings tenor this year in the Noteworthy Quartet and attended the Singing Buckeyes’ Harmony Camp at OSU in the summers of 2008 and 2009.Previously, Emily has been a member of the Norhtview Women’s Chorus and Symphonic Choir. She has participated in OMEA Solo and Ensemble contest over the last four years, consistently receiving Excellent and Superior ratings. Next year, Emily plans to major in music education at Bowling Green State University. Emily is the daughter of John and Rinda Holshoe. |

| Senior trumpeter, Jennifer Grimmer, is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Jennifer is a principal trumpet in the Northview Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band and Symphony Orchestra. Jennifer has been selected as a member of the Ohio Music Education Association All-District Band every year since she was in seventh grade and was named principal trumpet several times. Jennifer has also received a superior rating on a trumpet solo at OMEA Solo & Ensemble Adjudicated Events every year since she was in seventh grade. She has also been involved with the Northview musical for the last three years. Jennifer is also active in the Northview French Club. She is an outstanding student and is a member of the National Honor Society. Jennifer is the daughter of Tom and Joanna Grimmer. |
Haley Armstrong is the Northview Musician of the Week. Haley is a senior violinist and concertmistress of the Northview Orchestra. She is active musically as a member of the Toledo Youth Orchestra, where she serves as principal second violin. Haley will represent Northview in the OMEA NW Regional Orchestra and has been a member of the OMEA All-State Orchestra for the past two years. She has been involved with many district level honors orchestras over the years, and is an active member of the Northview String Quartet. Haley is concertmistress of the Toledo International Youth Orchestra and plays with the Sylvania Community Orchestra. She studies violin privately with Diana Anderson. Haley is also a member of the National Honor Society, and active in the Northview Science Olympiad. Undecided on a college on this point, Haley plans to major in pharmacy. She is the daughter of Lisa and Jeffrey Armstrong. |

| Senior trombonist Matt Jahns is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Matt is a member of the Northview Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band and Symphony Orchestra. He is also involved in the pit orchestra for the musical. Matt is the Band President and has displayed excellent leadership in helping the band prepare for the upcoming marching season. Matt has also displayed outstanding musicianship and remarkable character.

Senior Jarred Bowens is the Northview High School Musician of the Week. Jarred is percussion section leader and plays snare drum in the Wildcat Marching Band. He has displayed outstanding leadership and musicianship as he helps to mold the drum-line into a well-oiled machine. Jarred is the son of James and Terrica Bowens. |
