Eugene R. Bohland, Jr. is in his twenty sixth year at Northview High School, his twenty third year as Director of Bands. Prior to this, he was the assistant band director for the Napoleon City Schools for eight years. A graduate of Toledo Whitmer High School, Mr. Bohland attended Bowling Green State University and received his bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Toledo.
At Northview, Mr. Bohland serves as Music Department Chairman, directs the Wildcat Marching Band, the Wind Ensemble, the Symphonic Band, two Jazz Bands, and the Pep Band. He also team teaches the sixth and seventh grade bands at McCord Junior High School.
Mr. Bohland was named Sylvania Schools “Teacher of the Year” in 2001. He was named “Best Music Teacher” in the 2008 Best of Toledo Edition of the Toledo City Paper.
He is listed in “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers”. He is a member of the Music Educator’s National Conference, The Ohio Music Education Association, American School Band Director’s Association, and Phi Beta Mu. Mr. Bohland served as chair of the OMEA All-State Jazz Ensemble in 1997 and was co-chair of the OMEA District 1 Honors Festival for two years.
