Eugene R. Bohland is in his twenty third year at Northview High School, his twentieth as Director of Bands. Prior to this, he was Associate Band Director for the Napoleon City Schools for eight years. A graduate of Toledo Whitmer High School , Mr. Bohland attended Bowling Green State University and received his bachelor's and master's degreees from the University of Toledo.
At Northview, Mr. Bohland serves as Music Department Chairman, directs the Marching Band, The Wind Ensemble, The Symphonic Band, two Jazz Bands, and the Pep Band. He also team-teaches the sixth and seventh grade bands at McCord Junior High School.
Mr. Bohland was named Sylvania Schools Teacher Of The Year in 2001. He was recently named "Best Music Teacher" in the 2008 Best of Toledo edition of the Toledo City Paper.
He is listed in “Who's Who Among American Teachers. He is a member of Music Educators National Conference, The Ohio Music Education Assocation, American School Band Directors Association, and Phi Beta Mu. Mr. Bohland has served as chair of the All-State Jazz Ensemble in 1997 and has been co-chair of the Distirct 1 High School Honors Festival for the last two years.
